You should be in good cardiovascular shape. You don't need to be an athlete, but you should be able to walk 6 hours a day with a light daypack for 12 days straight.

Why do I fly from Ramechhap instead of Kathmandu?

During peak seasons (Spring/Autumn), the government often diverts Lukla flights to Ramechhap to reduce traffic congestion in Kathmandu. It involves a 4-hour drive from Kathmandu before the flight.

Is there a risk of altitude sickness?

Yes, EBC goes very high. Our itinerary includes two acclimatization days to help your body adjust. We recommend drinking plenty of water and avoiding alcohol.

Day 01 :

Flight to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,610 meters)

Your adventure begins with a breathtaking 40-minute flight to Lukla’s Tenzing-Hillary Airport, followed by a gentle 3 to 4-hour trek through the lush landscapes of the Dudh Koshi valley to reach the riverside village of Phakding.

Day 02 :

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters)

Crossing several high suspension bridges draped in prayer flags, you will enter Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo before tackling a steep final climb to reach Namche Bazaar, the vibrant horseshoe-shaped capital of the Sherpa people.

Day 03 :

Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters)

To safely adjust to the thinning air, you will spend the day exploring Namche, hiking up to the Everest View Hotel for your first panoramic glimpse of Everest, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse before visiting the local Sherpa museum.

Day 04 :

Trek from Namche to Tengboche (3,860 meters)

The trail winds along the mountainside with spectacular views of the Himalayas before descending to the river and rising again through rhododendron forests to Tengboche, home to the region's largest and most famous Buddhist monastery.

Day 05 :

Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410 meters)

Descending into the birch and conifer forests, you cross the Imja Khola and pass through the ancient village of Pangboche, eventually climbing above the tree line to reach the scenic, stone-walled fields of the Dingboche valley.

Day 06 :

Acclimatization Day at Dingboche (4,410 meters)

A second essential rest day involves a steep acclimatization hike up Nagarjun Hill, rewarding you with staggering views of Makalu, Island Peak, and the massive glaciers that define this high-altitude alpine landscape.

Day 07 :

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910 meters)

The trek continues along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, pausing at the Thukla Pass to honor fallen climbers at the stone memorials before reaching the small settlement of Lobuche nestled beneath the peaks.

Day 08 :

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364 meters) and Gorak Shep (5,140 meters)

This pinnacle day takes you across rocky glacial moraines to stand at the iconic Everest Base Camp at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall, after which you will return to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay at the edge of a frozen lake bed.

Day 09 :

Sunrise at Kala Patthar (5,545 meters) and Trek to Pheriche (4,240 meters)

An early morning climb to the black rock summit of Kala Patthar provides the most famous, unobstructed view of Mount Everest’s summit at sunrise, followed by a long descent through the thin air to the lower, oxygen-rich valley of Pheriche.

Day 10 :

Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters)

As you head back toward civilization, the trail leads you back through the forests and monasteries of Tengboche, descending steeply into the warmer climate and bustling markets of Namche Bazaar for a well-deserved celebration.

Day 11 :

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,840 meters)

Your final day on the trail follows the Dudh Koshi River back down to Lukla, crossing the suspension bridges one last time and reflecting on your journey with your guide and porters before your final night in the mountains.

Day 12 :

Flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu

An early morning flight whisks you away from the mountains and back to the capital city of Kathmandu, where you will be transferred to your destination, marking the successful completion of your Everest Base Camp trek.
